Job summary

Apploi is seeking a compassionate Occupational Therapist to deliver high-quality therapy services in a nursing home setting. You will assess residents, develop individualized plans, and help maintain or improve independence through engagement in daily activities.

You will collaborate with an interdisciplinary team, educate families and caregivers, and ensure compliance with regulations while pursuing ongoing professional development and growth.

Qualifications

• Current, valid Occupational Therapist license.
• Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy program.
• Experience in a skilled nursing or long-term care setting is preferred.
• Strong communication, organizational, and clinical skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of an interdisciplinary team.
• Compassionate, patient-centered approach to care.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate residents’ functional abilities and develop individualized treatment plans based on their needs and goals.
• Provide occupational therapy interventions to improve residents’ strength, coordination, mobility, and ability to perform activities of daily living.
• Help residents develop or regain the skills needed for dressing, bathing, grooming, eating, and other daily activities.
• Recommend adaptive equipment and techniques to promote independence and safety.
• Monitor residents’ progress and adjust treatment plans as appropriate.
• Document evaluations, treatments, progress, and outcomes accurately and in accordance with facility policies and regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with nursing staff, physical therapists, speech therapists, physicians, and other members of the interdisciplinary team.
• Educate residents, families, and caregivers on techniques and strategies to support continued progress.
• Maintain compliance with applicable federal and state regulations, professional standards, and facility policies.
