Qualifications

Education: post-master's certificate, master's or doctoral NP degree; must be approved school and accredited (ACEN or CCNE).
License: active, full APN license to practice as NP in US or DC.
Basic Board Certification: FNP/ANP/AGPCNP/GNP required from ANCC/AANPCB or equivalent.
Grandfathering: VA staff meeting criteria as of 1/29/2024 may be considered.
Education equivalency for foreign-trained NPs recognized via evaluation agencies.
