Job summary

Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services seeks a Music or Recreation Therapist at Piedmont Geriatric Hospital. You will lead therapeutic group and individual interventions and develop treatment plans grounded in assessment and evidence-based practices.

Applicants must have a degree in Music or Recreation Therapy from an accredited institution and current certification/licensure or eligibility within six months; experience in hospital/clinical settings and working with older

Qualifications

• Assess and modify treatment approaches based on patients' response to interventions.
• Prepare written treatment plans with objectives and interventions.
• Conduct group and individual interventions.
• Knowledge of the dynamics and processes of a therapeutic relationship and of group therapy.
• Provide therapeutic experiences that assist the patient to utilize and enhance their strengths, improve coping skills, and foster hope.
• Knowledge of professional standards of clinical documentation.
• Understand professional code of ethics and hospital ethics standards.
• Interact with others respectfully across diverse backgrounds, cultures, identities and beliefs.
