Job summary

Sligo Creek Healthcare in Takoma Park, MD is hiring a Staff Geriatric Nursing Assistant (GNA)/CNA I for day and night shifts to provide daily care under supervision of senior nursing staff.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, completion of state-approved CNA I/GNA training, Maryland competency exam, and strong communication. The facility offers a comprehensive benefits package including a $2,500 sign-on bonus for full-time staff.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Completion of state-approved CNA I/GNA training.
• Successful completion of Maryland Competency Examination for the GNA.
• Strong communicator with good interpersonal skills.
• Ability to stand/kneel/lift up to 25 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Assisting with resident food service during and between meals and feeding and positioning patients as needed.
• Providing basic nursing care from checking vital signs to dressings, treatments, and tests.
• Maintaining and adding to resident health and care records and documenting actions.
• Report observations to nursing supervisor and assist with other duties related to resident care.
• Keep resident information confidential and follow all policies, procedures and regulatory requirements.
• Maintaining licensure and pursuing professional development opportunities.
