Job summary

Wheeling Hospital is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant to provide routine daily nursing care under supervision, following assessment plans and care plans as directed by supervisors. The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent and a state CNA certification, with BLS within 30 days of hire.

Position is part-time, non-exempt, 24 hours per week, in Wheeling, WV, within the Skilled Nursing Facility.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Current CNA certification or eligibility within 3 months of hire.
• Background checks and BLS certification within 30 days of hire.
• One year of long term care nursing assistant experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Record entries on flow sheets, notes and charts per policy.
• Measure and record vitals following procedures.
• Provide adult geriatric care per age-specific standards.
• Use vital signs equipment, k-pad, scales, oxygen tanks, and other devices.
• Assist with daily hygiene, nail care, and ADLs with/without therapy guidance.
• Position patients every 2 hours and assist with bowel/bladder function.
• Respond to call bells promptly and assist with feeding and meals.
• Support care for dying patients and postmortem care as needed.
• Apply restraints/orthopedic devices per therapy instructions.
• Move and lift patients with team-based body mechanics.
