Job summary

CareOne at Somerset Valley in Bound Brook, NJ is seeking a Recreation Assistant to enhance residents' quality of life through organized activities and individualized engagement.

You will help plan and run group and individual activities for geriatric residents and contribute to activity care plans. Experience in long-term care and dementia activities is preferred; must be able to operate the activity bus for outings.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Must be able to work a flexible schedule with evenings/weekends.
• Previous experience in a Recreation/Activities position in long term care preferred.
• Previous experience with dementia activities preferred.
• Must be able and willing to safely operate the facility's activity bus for resident outings and events.

Responsibilities

• Plan, develop, organize, implement, and assist with activity programs for residents.
• Participate in discharge planning, development, and implementation of activity care plans and resident assessments.
