Essential Responsibilities:
- Receives, unpacks, inspects and checks incoming materials for defects, overage/shortage, and damage.
- Commonly used tools are: tape measure, micrometer, calipers, thread gage, plug gage, volt ohm meter (VOM).
- Work with warranty returns and maintain the will call area.
- Sign for and receive incoming packages.
- Lead the effort to continually improve efficiency and effectiveness of receiving and inspection procedures. Will operate forklift, crane, and pallet jack.
- Perform inventory counts as needed.
- Provide support and backup for the stockroom, projects, and shipping departments.
- Interface daily with internal customers to meet business objectives and external customer requirements.
- Coordinate return material authorizations (RMA) with outside vendors and Client Shipping team.
- Package product for shipment.
- Work with sourcing to coordinate returns to suppliers, supplier deviation requests, and provide vendor quality data.
- Develop and improve inspection processes, written procedures, and checklists.
- Accept independent responsibility for compliance with Environment, Health, and Safety.
Qualifications/Requirements:
- High School Diploma / GED.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in receiving or stockroom/kitting in a manufacturing environment.
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to lift 40 lbs and use hand and power tools for unpackaging and moving product.
- Associates Degree or higher in a technical discipline.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in Mechanical or Electrical Assembly.
- Solid computer and basic math skills.
- SAP experience.
- ERP experience.
- Able to read technical drawings.
- Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within receiving/material inspection.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills via phone, electronic, and person-to-person.
- Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Flexible and effective under changing conditions and with different tasks, responsibilities, and people.
- Able to flow back and forth between projects while maintaining departmental quality standards.
- Dependable.
- Safety-minded at all times.
