Job summary

Woolpert in Harrisburg, PA is hiring a Geotechnical Technician to join the Infrastructure Team. The role involves field and laboratory testing to support transportation, water, and aviation projects.

You will work under the Geotechnical Team Leader and help ensure safety and quality on active sites. Applicants should have a high school diploma, at least 3 years in geotechnical fieldwork, a valid driver's license, and relevant certifications.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 3+ years of geotechnical drilling inspection or related fieldwork.
• Valid driver's license required.
• OSHA 10 Construction Certificate or ability to obtain.
• PennDOT Drill Inspection Certification or ability to obtain.
• Knowledge of ASTM/AASHTO geotechnical testing standards.

Responsibilities

• Collect and document soil, concrete, asphalt, and aggregate samples.
• Support geotechnical drilling operations and log boring logs.
• Maintain field notes, test results, and chain of custody docs.
• Perform field testing including nuclear density gauges and moisture tests.
• Calibrate, maintain, and operate field and lab equipment.
• Communicate test results and deficiencies to contractors and seniors.
