Position & Office Overview

As a Geotechnical Team Manager, you strive to lead both your team and your profits. You have extensive experience both out on the field as well as handling the “business” side of geotechnical engineering. Your team looks to you for mentoring both technically and in building client relationships. You know how to set the bar high and not only achieve that goal yourself – but bring others along with you. You are extremely hard working and strive to ensure that your team delivers the best quality. Responsibilities
  • Project management responsibilities include preparation of proposals and invoicing, management of project progress with respect to budget, and collection efforts
  • Participate in marketing and business development with a focus on maintaining regular client contacts
  • Supervise a team of employees with an emphasis on growth and financial performance
  • Manage the team for growth with a strong emphasis on technical work execution and business development
  • Oversee schedules and review employee time and expenses to ensure that they are correctly recorded and coded for billing
  • Conduct and/or assist with coaching, performance evaluations, discipline, and termination of employees
  • Assist with recruiting and maintaining appropriate staff levels with approval by your management
Qualifications
  • BS or MS in Civil Engineering or Geological Engineering from an ABET accredited college/university; MSCE with geotechnical emphasis preferred
  • 5-8+ years of civil/geotechnical engineering experience
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain one within three months
