• Manage drill rigs, grout plants and shotcrete pumps, including maintenance.
• Update project schedules and track field productivity.
• Manage labor costs and keep work on budget.
• Coordinate suppliers, subcontractors and self-perform work.
• Run quality control and field documentation on the job.
• Keep project management updated on job status and participate in start/close meetings.

A leading heavy civil contractor with a strong Southeast presence is hiring a Geotechnical Superintendent for drilled shaft and deep foundation work in the Atlanta area. This is a strong opportunity for a Geotechnical Superintendent, Drill Shaft Superintendent or senior foundation foreman with 10+ years in specialty geotechnical work who wants bigger projects with a well resourced employer. You'll run self perform geotechnical crews on heavy civil and infrastructure projects, from drilled shafts and auger cast piles to micropiles, tiebacks and soil nails. Atlanta area locals are great, and candidates ready to relocate are welcome.

What You'll Be Responsible For

• Run daily field operations on geotechnical and deep foundation projects
• Lead drilled shaft, auger cast pile and earth retention crews
• Keep safety the top priority, working with the safety department and project management
• Plan means and methods for each geotechnical activity with the project team
• Manage drill rigs, grout plants and shotcrete pumps, including proper use and maintenance
• Update project schedules and track field productivity
• Manage labor costs and keep the work on budget
• Coordinate suppliers, subcontractors and self perform work
• Run quality control and field documentation on the job
• Keep project management updated on job status and take part in job start and job close meetings

What We're Looking For

• 10+ years of geotechnical construction experience across soldier piles, tiebacks, micropiles, drilled shafts, CFA auger cast piles, wick drains and soil or rock nails
• Thorough understanding of drill rigs, grout plants and shotcrete pumps, their use and maintenance
• Able to learn and apply geotechnical construction methods, specs and procedures
• Proven ability to manage crews, cost and schedule in the field
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Self motivated, able to work independently and as part of a team
• Willing to travel
• Drill shaft superintendent experience is a plus
• Based in the Atlanta area, or ready to relocate
