Geotechnical Staff Project Manager

Job summary

ECS Group of Companies in Aberdeen, MD is seeking a civil/geotechnical professional to assist in geotechnical report preparation, analyze data with senior staff, and support CMT projects.

Responsibilities include budget management, invoicing, field supervision, boring/test pit layouts, drilling packages, and coordinating laboratory testing. A BS/MS in Civil/Geological Engineering is required; no experience is necessary and driving is required for ECS subsidiaries.

• If driving for, or on behalf of, any ECS subsidiary, a valid driver’s license is required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare geotechnical reports and collaborate with senior staff on analysis and recommendations
• Manage construction materials testing (CMT) projects, review daily reports, resolve issues, train field staff
• Manage project budgets for geotechnical and CMT projects and prepare invoices
• Assist with or perform: boring/test pit layouts, site access evaluation, drilling packages, utility clearances
• Perform in-situ and specialized geotechnical field testing, classify soil, and assign lab testing
• Assist with preparing proposals for geotechnical and CMT projects for training and development purposes

• Primarily involved with tasks supporting the preparation of geotechnical reports, including analysis and recommendations formulated in collaboration with senior staff
• Manage construction materials testing (CMT) projects with daily report review, assist with resolution of issues, and training of field staff on your projects
• Manage project budgets on both geotechnical and CMT projects and prepare invoices
• Other duties may include assisting with or performing the following with supervision:
• Perform boring and test pit layouts and evaluate site access
• Prepare drilling packages and obtain utility clearances
• Perform research on local geologic history

The expected pay range for this role and location is $70,000 - $80,000/year. The final agreed-upon compensation will be determined based on specific location and other individual qualifications.
