Job summary

Braun Intertec is seeking an Experienced Geotechnical Staff Engineer for our Houston, TX office. The role involves managing routine to moderately complex geotechnical projects, providing technical expertise, and writing basic reports with professional opinions based on standard engineering practices.

We offer a $5,000 sign-on bonus and a competitive benefits package. Candidates should have a civil engineering degree (geotechnical/materials testing) with EIT and at least 2 years of industry

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering with geotechnical, construction materials testing, or related field.
• Master's degree in civil engineering preferred.
• Possess EIT certifications (Fundamentals of Engineering).

Responsibilities

• Work independently on assignments of limited scope and collaborate with engineers on larger projects.
• Manage geotechnical and construction materials testing projects.
• Maintain client communications and build client relations.
• Develop solutions, make recommendations, and prepare engineering reports.
• Observe construction in progress and report to project engineer.
• Perform field and laboratory tests as required.
• Gain experience relevant to obtaining a Professional Engineer license.

Job description

Braun Intertec is seeking an Experienced Geotechnical Staff Engineer to join our Houston, Texas office. This position manages routine to moderately complex projects by providing all technical expertise required to meet/exceed client expectations. This person writes basic reports giving professional opinions and recommendations applying standard engineering practices and techniques.

Up to $5000.00 sign on bonus!

Responsibilities

• Work independently on specific assignments of limited scope and with engineers and on larger projects as a team member
• Manage geotechnical and construction material testing projects
• Maintain client communications and build client relations
• Develops solutions, makes recommendations, and prepares engineering reports for review
• Observe construction in progress and reports to project engineer
• Perform various field and laboratory tests
• Gain experience relevant to obtain Professional Engineer license

Required Skills and Abilities

• Valid driver's license with acceptable violation history
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds on a regular basis

Required Experience

• Prior professional consulting experience desired
• Proficiency in field-testing & report writing experience
• 2 years industry experience
• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering with geotechnical, construction materials testing, or related
• Master's degree in civil engineering preferred
• Possess EIT certifications (Pass Fundamentals of Engineering Exam)
