Job summary

ECS Group of Companies is seeking a Geotechnical Senior Project Manager to lead and oversee geotechnical engineering and CMT projects from proposal through final delivery. You will be accountable for technical quality, client satisfaction, financial performance, and team execution.

You will mentor staff, contribute to business development, and maintain ECS Core Values while coordinating with project teams and stakeholders. A PE/PG license and 5+ years’ experience are required.

Qualifications

• 5 years of related experience.
• Bachelor and/or Master of Science in Civil Engineering, Geological Engineering, Geology, or similar is required.
• Professional Engineer (P.E.) or Professional Geologist (P.G.) license is required in each state of practice, or ability to obtain via reciprocity within 3 months.
• If driving for ECS, a valid driver’s license is required.
• Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
• Advanced project management and consulting skills.
• Strong business development and client relationship skills.
• Extensive knowledge of geotechnical principles and CMT/ASTM standards.

Responsibilities

• Leads and manages geotechnical and CMT projects from proposal through completion.
• Oversees preparation and review of geotechnical reports with analyses and recommendations.
• Ensures all tasks from proposal to final invoice are completed on time and accurately.
• Manages budgets, change orders, invoicing, and collections.
• Reviews field reports for quality and completeness; mentors staff.
• Prepares proposals and contracts; serves as primary client contact.
• Hosts project meetings and presents findings with technical solutions.
• Supervises field investigations, drilling, and testing activities; verifies calculations.
• Mentors junior staff and supports staffing decisions and resource allocation.

The Geotechnical Senior Project Manager leads and oversees geotechnical engineering and construction materials testing (CMT) projects from proposal through final delivery and closeout. This role is fully accountable for project success, including technical quality, client satisfaction, financial performance, and team execution. The Geotechnical Senior Project Manager provides leadership to project teams, mentors staff, and actively contributes to business development and client relationship growth while maintaining a positive customer service attitude and demonstrating ECS Core Values.

Responsibilities

• Leads and manages geotechnical and CMT projects from proposal through completion
• Oversees preparation and review of geotechnical reports, including technical analysis and recommendations
• Ensures all project tasks, from proposal to final invoice, are completed accurately and on time
• Manages project budgets, change orders, invoicing, and collections
• Reviews field reports and ensures quality, accuracy, and completeness
• Prepares and oversees proposals and contracts
• Serves as primary point of contact for clients and project stakeholders
• Hosts and participates in project meetings to present findings and provide technical solutions
• Supervises field investigations, drilling, and testing activities
• Provides technical oversight and verifies calculations and recommendations
• Mentors and develops junior staff, technicians, and project managers
• Supports staffing decisions and resource allocation
• Performs other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

• 5 years of related experience
• Bachelor and/or Master of Science in Civil Engineering, Geological Engineering, Geology, or similar is required
• A Professional Engineer (P.E.) or Professional Geologist (P.G.) license is required in each of the state(s) in which you work, or you must have the ability to obtain a local license through reciprocity within three months of hire date
• If driving for or on behalf of any ECS subsidiary, a valid driver's license is required
