Job summary

ECS Group of Companies is seeking a Civil/Geotechnical Engineer to prepare geotechnical reports, manage CMT projects, and develop proposals and invoices. You will lead field supervision, mentor staff, and ensure timely delivery of technical solutions to clients.

The role requires a BS/MS in civil or geological engineering, 2 years of related experience, and licensure (P.E. or P.G. preferred). A valid driver’s license is required for work related duties.

Qualifications

• Bachelor and/or Master of Science in Civil Engineering, Geological Engineering, Geology, or similar is required.
• Professional Engineer (P.E.) or Professional Geologist (P.G.) preferred.
• A professional license is required in each state in which you work; if not obtained, 'Manager' will be used in the title.

Responsibilities

• Prepare geotechnical reports with analysis and recommendations to meet project deadlines.
• Manage construction materials testing (CMT) projects with daily report review and issue resolution.
• Prepare geotechnical and CMT proposals, manage budgets, and prepare change orders and invoices.
• Host or attend project meetings with clients to follow up on reports and provide technical solutions as necessary.
• Supervise field work and mentor staff project managers, assistants, and technicians.

• Primarily involved with preparation of geotechnical reports, including analysis and recommendations with a strong commitment to meet project deadlines
• Manage construction materials testing (CMT) projects with daily report review, assist with resolution of issues, and training of field staff on your projects
• Prepare both geotechnical and CMT proposals, manage project budgets, and prepare change orders and invoices
• Host or attend project meetings with clients to follow up on delivered reports and provide technical solutions as necessary
• Other duties may include assisting with or performing the following with supervision:
• Prepare drilling packages and obtain utility clearances
• Perform research on local geologic history
• Supervise field work performed by drilling/test pit crews and assist with rig access issues
• Classify soil and assign laboratory testing
• Mentor and support Staff Project Managers, Assistant Staff Project Managers, and technicians in their development

The expected pay range for this role and location is $70,000 - $85,000/year. The final agreed-upon compensation will be determined based on specific location and other individual qualifications.
