Job summary

TTL is seeking an experienced Geotechnical Engineer to lead projects from proposal through completion in Alabama, including soils/testing for foundations, retaining structures, bridges and culverts. A licensed Professional Engineer or ability to obtain licensure within six months is preferred.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in geotechnical engineering and 5+ years of progressive project management experience, with strong communication and organizational skills for site work in Tuscaloosa,

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s in civil engineering specializing in geotechnical engineering (Master’s preferred).
• 5+ years of geotechnical engineering experience.
• 5+ years of progressive project management experience.

Responsibilities

• Manage geotechnical projects from proposal through completion, including scope, cost estimating, scheduling, budgeting, invoicing and safety planning.
• Ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget and to client and company standards.
• Oversee field technicians and project activities to support efficient execution.
• Identify geotechnical issues and develop solutions through design calculations, evaluations and construction plans.
• Analyze survey reports and geological data to evaluate feasibility and support design.
• Prepare and review geotechnical reports and project scopes.
