Terracon is seeking a senior geotechnical engineer in Washington to lead field investigations, analyses, and reporting for a broad range of projects. The role includes project management, coordinating design and construction phases, and ensuring high-quality deliverables across the Pacific Northwest.
The candidate will be responsible for mentoring junior staff, interacting with clients, and contributing to marketing and business development efforts.
Provide geotechnical engineering and consulting services for a broad array of projects and clients. This may include performing and/or leading field investigations, geotechnical engineering analyses, recommendations, construction observation and inspection, managing projects in both design and construction phases, and writing, preparation, and review of related reports for the services provided. Review drawings and construction documents for consistency with geotechnical engineering documents. Prepare proposals and fee estimates, track and evaluate project progress, budgets, and preparation of change orders. Research, evaluate, and resolve design and construction problems. Assign, review, and evaluate laboratory or field data for inclusion in reports. Apply sound engineering principles and be able to communicate complex engineering issues and concepts to technical and non-technical clients and project teams. Services may be provided for existing or proposed projects in a variety of sectors, including public works, transportation, commercial, communications, energy, and industrial. Demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills in all project-related interactions with clients, staff, and peers.
