Job summary

Madrid CFTL is seeking a reliable Laboratory Technician to support geotechnical and construction materials laboratory operations on a major on-site project in Florida. You will prepare samples, run routine tests, document results, and maintain equipment under supervision.

Schedule includes six 10-hour days per week. Candidates should have a high school diploma and 0–2 years of lab experience, with strong attention to detail and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 0-2 years of laboratory, materials testing, or related experience preferred.
• Ability to follow standardized procedures and document data accurately.
• Basic computer and data entry skills.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks associated with laboratory work.
• Dependable, punctual, and able to commit to a demanding long-term schedule.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, process, and test soil and aggregate samples, including moisture content, gradation, Atterberg limits, and Proctor testing.
• Label, track, store, and manage samples to ensure proper identification and traceability.
• Accurately record test results and maintain complete laboratory documentation and logs.
• Clean, maintain, and verify calibration status of laboratory equipment.
• Assist with laboratory setup, organization, and housekeeping.
• Provide occasional support for field density testing as needed.
• Follow all safety policies and procedures while maintaining a clean and orderly work environment.
• Support senior laboratory staff with audits, inspections, and special testing assignments as directed.
