This role combines technical depth, leadership, and business management for private and public sector development projects across Texas.

This is a new leadership role supporting our Geotechnical department, with a strong emphasis on technical excellence, client relationships, and group‑level P&L responsibility.

Responsibilities
  • Provide strategic leadership and mentorship to geotechnical engineers, field professionals, and project managers across multiple concurrent infrastructure, commercial, and public works projects.
  • Oversee deep and shallow foundation analysis, slope stability evaluations, and ground improvement design using industry-standard methods and software.
  • Review and approve geotechnical engineering reports, including analysis of CPT, borings, lab testing, and slope monitoring data.
  • Deliver geotechnical design recommendations aligned with AASHTO, ASTM, TXDOT, and IBC standards.
  • Manage all operations of the geotechnical laboratory, ensuring quality assurance and efficient data turnaround.
  • Direct proposal development, scope definition, budgeting, and profitability of the department, including oversight of collections.
  • Partner closely with senior leadership on long‑term strategy, resource planning, and market expansion.
  • Support recruiting, hiring, and professional development for your group; promote a culture of coaching, learning, and retention.
  • Maintain and grow client relationships through technical consultation, presentations, and project delivery excellence.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering with a focus in Geotechnical Engineering from an ABET‑accredited institution.
  • Active Professional Engineer (PE) license in the state of Texas.
  • Minimum 8 years of progressive geotechnical experience, including management of technical teams and client‑facing roles.
  • Proven ability to lead complex projects involving foundations, embankments, slope stability, earth retention systems, and CMT services.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience applying geotechnical standards from AASHTO, ASTM, TXDOT, IBC, and other industry accredited authorities in design and reporting.
  • Technical expertise with CPT data interpretation, settlement analysis, liquefaction evaluation, and ground improvement techniques.
  • Familiarity with software tools such as GeoStudio, LPILE, Settle3, and gINT.
