Job summary

ECS Group of Companies in Frederick, MD is seeking a Field Geotechnical Technician to perform boring layouts, soil classifications, DCP testing, sampling, and field observations. Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Basic math skills and ability to read maps and plans.
• Strong communication skills, verbal and written.

Responsibilities

• Layout borings and test pits using surveying techniques and GPS.
• Observe and classify soils, test pits, and subsurface conditions.
• Perform hand auger borings and DCP testing in the field.
• Log soil samples and document field observations.
• Assist with data reduction and reporting of field results.
• Perform field testing, sampling, and inspection of construction materials.
• Communicate daily with contractors and project managers about site conditions.
• Assist with preparation of reports, calculations, and documentation.
• Maintain field equipment and ensure documentation of test results.
