Job summary

ECS Group of Companies is seeking a Geotechnical Field Technician to perform field and laboratory testing in support of geotechnical and construction materials projects. This role is field-based, involving subsurface exploration, observation, and material testing under supervision.

The candidate will develop technical skills through hands-on experience, documentation, and interaction with project teams while maintaining ECS Core Values and a strong customer service attitude.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Basic math and reading maps to interpret plans.
• Ability to work independently and with a team.

Responsibilities

• Performs layout of borings and test pits using surveying techniques and GPS.
• Observes and classifies soils, test pits, and subsurface conditions.
• Performs field testing, sampling, and inspection of construction materials.
• Logs soil samples and documents field observations.
• Maintains field equipment and ensures proper documentation of test results.
• Communicates daily with project managers and team members about site conditions.
