Job summary

Qualifications

• Pursuing an Associate, Bachelor, or Master degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• Certification requirements must be completed within stated timelines (90 days intro, 270 days overall).
• Valid driver’s license required if driving for ECS subsidiaries.
• Strong written and verbal communication, dependable and organized work ethic.

Responsibilities

• Assist with geotechnical fieldwork and subsurface exploration activities.
• Support scheduling and coordination of drilling operations.
• Assist with utility clearances and site access evaluation.
• Prepare drilling instructions and field plans.
• Perform boring and test pit layout using surveying and GPS equipment.
• Observe and classify soil samples and test pits.
• Prepare boring logs and location diagrams.
• Perform hand auger borings for soil samples.
• Assist with site seismic testing and field investigations.
• Observe foundation construction and ground improvement activities.
• Assist with laboratory testing and data collection.
• Document field observations and support data collection.
• Perform other field or project support tasks as assigned.
