Job summary

ECS Group of Companies is seeking a Geotechnical Field Coordinator to plan and oversee geotechnical field operations across projects. You will coordinate scheduling, resources, and communication among field staff, project managers, and office personnel to sustain productivity, safety, and quality, aligned with ECS standards.

The role involves hands-on field tasks, training staff, maintaining equipment, and supporting safe field practices while adapting to project needs.

Qualifications

• Five years of geotechnical drilling experience or equivalent.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Valid driver's license if driving for ECS subsidiary.
• Experience leading field crews and coordinating field staff.
• Knowledge of drilling and subsurface investigation processes.

Responsibilities

• Layouts borings and pits using surveying and GPS.
• Observe and classify test pits and soils.
• Perform hand auger borings, DCP testing, soil logging, and field work.
• Communicate daily with site contractors, PMs, and ECS personnel.
• Classify samples and reduce GPS data for use.
• Assist in vehicle/equipment maintenance and documentation.
• Help manage inventory of department supplies and equipment.
• Help coordinate field testing schedules and subcontractors.
• Assist in training staff on field testing methods and data interpretation.
• Assist in managing field activities for the drilling department.
• Support geotechnical department as needed; promote safe practices.
• May work in construction materials testing department; perform other duties.
