Job summary

Civil & Environmental Consultants, Inc. in Pittsburgh, PA is seeking a Geotechnical Engineering Intern to support subsurface investigations for building foundations, slopes, retaining walls, landslides, and pavements. You will assist in drilling, soil sampling, boring logs, and lab testing programs under mentorship.

You will participate in geotechnical analyses and the preparation of detailed reports for diverse clients across commercial, retail, institutional, energy, and industrial sectors.

Qualifications

• Current enrollment in an undergraduate Civil or Environmental Engineering program.
• Prior internship and/or related survey experience is a plus.
• Local candidates preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform geotechnical engineering tasks to support subsurface investigations for building foundations, slopes, walls, landslides and pavements.
• Support subsurface drilling, obtain soil and rock samples, and prepare boring logs.
• Assist in the development of laboratory testing programs and interpret lab data.
• Perform geotechnical analyses and assist in preparing detailed geotechnical reports.
• Projects will primarily target commercial, retail, institutional, energy, and industrial clients.
