Job summary

HNTB Corporation is seeking a qualified engineer to assist in the production and modification of design calculations, technical reports, engineering plans and specifications for assigned projects in Baton Rouge, LA.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in engineering with 2 years of experience or a master’s with 1 year of experience, and proficiency in engineering principles, MS Office, MicroStation and/or AutoCAD.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering and 2 years of relevant experience, or Master’s degree in Engineering and 1 year of relevant experience.
• Engineering degree requirements with internship or practical experience preferred.
• Familiarity with engineering design software and ability to develop calculations.

Responsibilities

• Completes assigned design calculations, reports, plans and specifications.
• Develops project quantities and assists with cost estimates.
• Supports field investigations and data collection for projects.
• Keeps project files organized and assists project team with documentation.

This position performs research, development, calculations, design and delivery in partnership with the project team. Applies engineering techniques, procedures and design criteria for projects ranging in size and complexity. Leverages technical knowledge and experience to assist in the execution and evaluation of project designs. Develops conceptual and detailed designs and calculations to support the project execution using current drawing and technical tools, programs and software.
