Job summary

GameChange Energy is a dynamic solar industry leader seeking a geotechnical engineer in Norwalk, CT. The role focuses on reviewing site geotechnical reports and identifying design risks to support foundation decisions.

You will develop load-test procedures, interpret test results with engineers, and collaborate with clients and contractors to finalize foundations while contributing to process improvements. This is a hybrid, full-time position with competitive compensation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering.
• 1+ years of relevant geotechnical engineering experience.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications and geotechnical reports.
• Familiarity with applying engineering codes and standards to design decisions.
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities:

• Review site geotechnical reports during project development and support the GCE business development team with technical evaluations.
• Identify geotechnical design risks and provide preliminary recommendations for foundation type, embedment depth, and feasibility.
• Develop load test (pull test) procedures for field verification of foundation designs.
• Review and interpret pull test results and collaborate with internal geotechnical and structural engineers to finalize foundation designs.
• Interface with clients, contractors, and external engineers, and participate in project meetings as needed.
• Support continuous improvement of internal geotechnical design practices and standards.

• Minimum 1 years of relevant geotechnical engineering experience
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications and geotechnical reports.
• Familiarity with applying engineering codes and standards to design decisions.

• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Experience:

• Field oversite and planning of geotechnical field investigations.
• Prior experience with deep foundations, driven piles, or load testing.
• Experience with LPILE or similar lateral pile analysis software.
• Moderate proficiency in AutoCAD.
• Experience working with ERP systems such as Netsuite.
• Experience in utility-scale solar.
• Business casual attire in the office.
• PPE is required for site visits and field activities. Periodic travel may be required ~20% of the time.

Job Type: Full-time Location: Norwalk, CT (Hybrid) - Business professional attire when in office setting.

Salary: $65,000 - $85,000 per year
