Job summary

ECS Group of Companies is seeking an entry-level geotechnical field technician to support field tasks on geotechnical projects in Georgia. The role involves documenting site observations for CMT and geotechnical field work, assisting with boring/test pit layouts, and preparing drilling packages with utility clearances.

The candidate should have a BS/MS in Civil/Geological Engineering or Geology, no prior experience required, and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Responsibilities include clearly documenting site observations for both construction materials testing (CMT) and geotechnical field work performed
• Other duties may include assisting with or performing the following with limited supervision:
• Perform boring and test pit layouts
• Prepare drilling packages and obtain utility clearances
• Perform research on local geologic history
• Assist with supervision of field work performed by drilling/test pit crews and assist with rig access issues.
• Perform in-situ testing
• Keep project staff informed of changing site conditions and/or additional testing requested on project sites
• Bachelor and/or Master of Science in Civil Engineering, Geological Engineering, Geology, or similar is required
