Job summary

A construction consultancy in New York is seeking a Civil Engineer to observe and document construction processes, inspect materials, and draft reports on findings. Candidates should possess a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering and ideally hold a PE license. The role also includes collaborating with contractors and project managers. Job description

Your Day Includes

• Observing and documenting field activities related to construction processes
• Sampling, testing, and inspecting various materials including soils, concrete, masonry, and asphalt
• Performing calculations, data reduction, and drafting reports based on test results
• Interacting daily with contractors, technicians, and project managers to facilitate project progress
• Testifying as an expert witness in dispute resolution proceedings, as necessary

Must Haves

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field
• Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred
• Experience in construction defect analysis, particularly in compaction, stormwater systems, and foundation testing
