Job summary

Lynker Technologies is seeking a Geospatial Scientist in Boulder, CO to advance terrain and hydrography products. You will work on DEM processing, data storage design, and reproducible pipelines using Rust and Python in a collaborative, weather/climate science context.

You will contribute to QA/QC of hydrography, data validation, and integration with modeling platforms, with on-site collaboration at Colorado Front Range.

Qualifications

• Master's in geospatial science, geography, engineering, earth science, CS, or related field; or Bachelor's + 2 years experience.
• Proficiency in Python for geospatial data processing and automation.
• Experience with Rust or willingness to work in a Rust codebase.
• Experience with GIS tools (ArcGIS, QGIS) and standard raster/vector formats.
• Strong grasp of coordinate reference systems and QA/QC practices.

Responsibilities

• DEM acquisition from public and partner sources with provenance tracking.
• Process, clean, reproject, and condition DEMs to analysis-ready terrain surfaces.
• Design and maintain storage for large raster/vector datasets; use CO-optimized formats.
• Contribute to geospatial processing tools; write unit tests and validation suites in Rust.
• QA/QC on vector hydrography; ensure topology and attribute completeness.
• Design reproducible terrain-processing pipelines for evolving data.
• Document methods, data sources, and QA results; collaborate across teams.
