Job summary

WGI's Geospatial Group is seeking a Geomaticist I with 5 years of experience in Indianapolis, IN. The position performs entry-level Geomatics under supervision, including field surveys, data reduction, field calculations, CAD drafting, GIS data collection, research, and error analysis.

Work involves selecting survey equipment (GPS, data collectors, robotic total stations, scanners), performing field tasks (staking, topographic, hydrographic, utility surveys), on-site data reduction, CAD/GIS

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Geomatics, Engineering, Land Surveying or related discipline.
5-10 years of experience.
Must be proficient with survey calculations, CAD, and GIS.
LSIT preferred.

Responsibilities

Plan and execute Geomatics field work, selecting survey equipment and methodology.
Perform field tasks such as staking, as-builts, topographic, hydrographic, and utility surveys.
Reduce and review raw data on-site using appropriate software.
Prepare or adjust maps and drawings with CAD on site when needed.
Make on-site calculations using COGO in data collectors or laptops.
Use GIS to collect data, attribute features, and produce maps.
Support research and other duties as directed by the Supervisor.
