Job summary

Geo.cgi is seeking an Associate Data Manager to support an Air Force geospatial program at Scott Air Force Base in Belleville, IL. You will help organize, secure, and optimize geospatial data resources, collaborating with GIS professionals, system admins, and developers to ensure reliable data workflows and mission-focused outcomes.

The role emphasizes data management, security, and the expansion of technical expertise in a DoD enterprise GIS environment, with strong attention to data quality

Qualifications

• U.S. Citizen an active DoD Secret Security Clearance and willingness to be elevated to a Top Secret.
• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Data Management, GIS, Computer Science, or related discipline, or equivalent relevant experience.
• Experience working with geospatial data formats (shapefiles, GeoJSON, KML, raster, etc.).
• Knowledge of database concepts and technologies (SQL, PostgreSQL/PostGIS).
• Understanding of data quality, security, and accessibility principles.
• Familiarity with data security protocols for sensitive/classified information.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate data/documentation.
• Ability to work onsite Monday–Friday at Scott Air Force Base.

Responsibilities

• Organize, maintain, and manage geospatial datasets per DoD policies.
• Support ingestion, transformation, processing, and distribution for geospatial apps and missions.
• Perform data quality control to ensure accuracy, integrity, and security.
• Assist with metadata management, tagging, and documentation.
• Collaborate with GIS analysts and system admins to improve workflows and data access.
• Apply DoD/Air Force cybersecurity requirements when handling sensitive data.
• Troubleshoot data access issues and format conversions.
• Support geospatial databases (SQL, PostgreSQL/PostGIS).
• Work with developers and analysts to meet mission needs and data standards.
• Contribute to data management standards and best practices.
