Job summary
Lynker is seeking a Geospatial Analyst to support NOAA's Office for Coastal Management, focused on processing, QA, documentation, and management of remote sensing and geospatial data. The role is hybrid in the Charleston, SC area and involves both team collaboration and independent work on project deliverables.
The ideal candidate has advanced GIS experience, knowledge of land cover classification, and proficiency with ArcGIS Pro, Erdas Imagine, and Python scripting.
Qualifications
- Master’s or Bachelor's with related experience in geography, remote sensing, GIS, or related field
- Experience with land cover mapping methods, elevation data, orthoimagery analysis, and change detection
- Experience with raster and vector datasets on desktop and web platforms
- Knowledge of geospatial analysis tools such as ArcGIS Pro, Erdas Imagine, QGIS, Global Mapper, Trimble eCognition, FeatureAnalyst
Responsibilities
- QA of land cover datasets at multiple resolutions
- Assist with land cover data classification using multiple input data sources
- Process and analyze imagery, elevation, and other geographic data in raster and vector formats
- Produce derived products like maps and statistics
- Work as part of a team and independently to meet project objectives
- Manage complex automated tasks and publish/map services and metadata
