Job summary

Ascendancy Recruiting Group is seeking a Geology Manager for our client. Reporting to the General Manager and as a key member of the Leadership Team, the Geology Manager will develop, manage and execute Mine Geology and Resource development across current and developing projects.

Duties include leading exploration teams, designing discovery-focused drilling programs, ensuring safety and regulatory compliance, and delivering quality geological data and reports.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Geology or related field.
• 10–15 years of geology experience and leadership exposure.
• Experience with Carlin trend is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead exploration activities and manage geology/exploration teams across current and developing projects.
• Design and execute discovery-focused exploration and drilling programs, planning, budgeting, logistics, reporting and cost control.
• Ensure high-quality geological data collection, reporting, and statutory compliance.
• Coach, mentor and supervise geologists, technicians, contractors and consultants, fostering stakeholder collaboration.
• Present exploration models, targets and results to executives and senior technical staff, supporting procedures and reporting.

Job description

Our client is seeking a new Geology Manager. Reporting to the General Manager and as a key member of the Leadership Team, the Geology Manager will have accountability to develop, manage and execute the Mine Geology and Resource development work at their current & developing projects.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILIBIES

• Promote and enforce compliance with company safety, environmental, and regulatory standards, ensuring all employees and contractors work safely and in accordance with company policy.
• Lead exploration activities and manage geology/exploration teams across current & developing projects
• Design and execute discovery-focused exploration and drilling programs to expand resources, reserves, and growth opportunities, including planning, budgeting, logistics, reporting, and cost control.
• Implement best practices and oversee high-quality geological data collection, technical reporting, and statutory compliance to support project objectives and timelines.
• Coach, mentor, and supervise geologists, field technicians, contractors, and consultants while fostering strong stakeholder collaboration.
• Present exploration models, targets, and results to executives and senior technical staff, and support the development of operational procedures and reporting processes.

• Proficient in standard office software, Leapfrog, and ArcGIS
• Strong communication, analytical, and organizational skills with a results-driven approach
• Proven ability to coach and develop employees while collaborating effectively with stakeholders
• Proactive problem-solver with sound judgment and the ability to anticipate operational challenges and provide constructive recommendations
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver accurate, timely results in a fast-paced environment

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree qualification in Geology, Engineering, or related field
• Tertiary qualifications in Geology with a minimum of 10 - 15 years of experience
• Previous experience in the Carlin trend – preferred
