Cal Poly Humboldt invites applications to join the Department of Geology as a Lecturer in a temporary, part-time capacity through the 26/27 academic year. The lecturer pool supports a range of geology courses and associated fieldwork, with emphasis on delivering rigorous, hands-on instruction in a world-class geologic setting.

Ideal candidates hold a Master’s degree (or higher) in Geoscience or related fields and have proven teaching experience; PhD in Geosciences is preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum of a M.A. or M.S. in Geoscience or related field.
• Successful teaching experience or professional work related to geology.
• Preferred: PhD in Geosciences with emphasis on topics of assignment.
• Commitment to diversity and equity in education.

Responsibilities

• Teach geology courses as needed in the academic year.
• Contribute to field and laboratory instruction and student mentoring.
• Collaborate with faculty to develop course offerings and support student success.
