Job summary

SSR Mining Inc. in the United States is offering a Geology internship for current undergraduates. The program runs mid-May to mid-August and provides exposure to open pit heap leach mining operations and the opportunity to work with top industry professionals.

You will assist in exploration, sampling, drilling, core processing, and data QA/QC, while developing a project report for site management. A valid US work authorization and enrollment in Geology or a related field are required.

Qualifications

• Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
• Currently enrolled in an undergraduate program, with an expected graduation date of December 2026 or later.
• Majoring in Geology or a related technical field.
• Must have valid work authorization to work in the United States for the duration of the internship.

Responsibilities

• Assists in the exploration activities and development drilling programs within the property boundary.
• Assists in sampling programs.
• Collects rock samples within a pre-established sampling grid within the exploration area.
• Assists with the drilling activities and logging of the cuttings and/or core from the drills.
• Assist in the processing of the core.
• Participates in basic geologic, pit, highwall and road cut mapping.
• Assists with the drilling programs at the mine site.
• Interprets mineralization and geologic contacts on section and plans.
• Gains experience with the QA/QC procedures and protocol of the entire process of the collection of the drill samples through to the laboratory to the database.
• Develop and implement a project reporting the findings to site management at the end of the internship.
• Adhere to all safety procedures, policies and best practices.
• This role requires frequent interaction with department employees, supervision, management and on a regular basis
