The Missouri Geological Survey in Rolla, Missouri is seeking a geoscience-oriented professional to integrate core log and historic mining data for critical mineral projects. Qualifications

  • Coursework for geology or geology-related degree; comprehension of geologic terminology and concepts.
  • Coursework in mineralogy, petrology, and stratigraphy are preferred.
  • Knowledge of geologic data field collection methods.
  • Experience with ArcGIS and Microsoft Office software are preferred.
  • Learning: Uses efficient learning techniques to acquire and apply new knowledge and skills.
  • Research: Knowledge of scientific principles, methods and data analysis.

Responsibilities

  • Integrate core log and historic mining data into databases as part of MGS/USGS funded critical mineral projects.
  • Interpret geologic terminology and symbology.
  • Perform geochemical field sampling for a critical mineral mine waste project.
  • Use ArcGIS for collection of core locations and mine waste project data.
