Job summary

Oceanagold is seeking a field-based Geology Technician to support daily open pit operations. You will collect, document, and manage geological data to ensure accurate ore control and production efficiency in a hands-on, outdoor role.

The position requires the ability to work independently in the field, strong data accuracy, and experience with sampling and GPS/survey equipment. Competitive benefits and growth opportunities are offered near Charlotte, NC area.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1–3 years’ mining or field operations experience preferred.
• Experience with sampling procedures and data recording desirable.
• Experience with blast hole logging and grade control helpful.
• Experience with GPS/survey equipment and wearing respirators beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Assist with grade control and ore delineation in active pit.
• Conduct blast hole logging including lithology, alteration, mineralization, and structure.
• Mark up and maintain dig lines, boundaries, and pit mapping.
• Collect and manage samples with proper labeling and chain of custody.
• Support drill programs: coordination, sample handling, and logging assistance.
• Operate GPS/survey equipment to record sample points and geological features.
• Maintain accurate data entry into geological systems.
• Perform daily pit inspections and report findings to geologists.
• Collaborate with geologists and crews with high accountability and reliability.
