Job summary

Ur-Energy – Lost Creek ISR Facility, Wyoming is seeking a motivated Geological Technician to support locating and surveying drill sites, collecting drillhole and GIS data, and aiding downhole geophysical and camera data collection from open-hole and cased wells.

The role combines field and office work with multi-disciplinary teams, emphasizing data integrity, GIS/CAD map creation, and hands-on operation of survey and data collection tools.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in Geology or related discipline desired.
• Two years of experience in a similar role preferred (not required).
• Strong knowledge of data management processes.
• Professional-level oral and written communication skills.
• Strong computer skills, including GIS experience.
• Valid driver's license with an insurable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Log lithology from drill cuttings.
• Conduct surveys using Trimble GPS equipment to locate and stake planned and as-built drill sites, mine-related infrastructure, and other project features using GIS and related software.
• Maintain, update, and quality-check drillhole databases, GIS datasets, spreadsheets, and other data management systems to ensure accuracy and completeness.
• Create and update maps, figures, and technical exhibits using GIS and CAD software for operational, permitting, or presentation purposes.
• Learn to operate a geophysical logging truck and its related programs.
• Collect surface data using a company-operated drone.
• Acquire high-quality downhole camera data from open and cased boreholes.
• Digitize, scan, and organize geologic, survey, and operational data.
• Ensure all collected data is accurately entered, stored, and maintained per company standards and procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
