Stantec is seeking an Environmental Scientist / Project Manager to support our Great Lakes Regional environmental remediation team based in the Twin Cities, MN (Plymouth, Minneapolis, or Woodbury). This role combines project management, client engagement, technical reporting, and 20% fieldwork.

You’ll manage projects across multiple sectors and regulatory programs while building strong client relationships and ensuring regulatory compliance.

• Lead remediation projects and prepare technical reports, work plans, cost estimates, and grant applications.
• Review and interpret data against state and federal standards.
• Conduct field investigations, sampling, and inspections (20%).
• Oversee subcontractors and ensure health & safety compliance.
• Mentor junior staff and support business development.

Your Opportunity

Stantec is seeking an Environmental Scientist / Project Manager to support our Great Lakes Regional environmental remediation team based in the Twin Cities, MN (Plymouth, Minneapolis, or Woodbury). This role combines project management, client engagement, technical reporting, and 20% fieldwork. You’ll manage projects across multiple sectors and a variety of regulatory programs including those relevant to soil, groundwater, and soil vapor investigations as well as vapor mitigation, remediation, environmental due diligence and property redevelopment, while building strong client relationships and ensuring regulatory compliance.

Your Key Responsibilities

• Project Management: - Develop proposals, budgets, and schedules.
• Manage safety planning and ensure compliance.
• Coordinate with clients, stakeholders, regulatory agencies, and internal teams.
• Client & Agency Interface: - Serve as primary client contact and foster relationships.
• Communicate with State Agencies to meet regulatory requirements.
• Technical Leadership: - Lead and implement Phase I/II Environmental Site Assessments for soil, soil vapor, and groundwater.
• Lead and implement remediation projects.
• Prepare technical reports, work plans, cost estimates, and grant applications.
• Review and interpret data against state and federal standards.
• Field Work (20%): - Conduct site investigations, sampling, and inspections.
• Oversee subcontractors and ensure health & safety compliance.

Your Capabilities and Credentials

Education and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Geology, Hydrology, or related field.
• Min 5 years of relevant experience is required. 7–10 years is preferred.
• PE or PG license preferred.
• Current 40-Hr HAZWOPER training required.

Pay Range

• Locations in MN, OH, VT, & Various CA, ME, NY, VA Areas-$75,200.00 - $109,000.00 Annually

Pay Transparency

In compliance with pay transparency laws, pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible. Actual compensation for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on the agreed number of working hours per week.

Benefits Summary
