US Army Corps of Engineers, Institute for Water Resources, seeks a national specialist in geology for infrastructure risk management of dam and levee systems. Incumbent must be a licensed Professional Geologist.

You will provide technical guidance on rock mechanics, data interpretation, and risk assessment methods; lead reviews of reports; participate in multidisciplinary teams across USACE districts and centers; and help develop guidance and tools.

Formación

• Requires a degree in geology with 20 additional semester hours across math, physics, chemistry or related fields.
• Must be a licensed Professional Geologist in good standing.
• Experience in risk assessment for civil infrastructure is preferred.

Responsabilidades

• Provides technical expertise for hazard identification, analysis, design and review of geologic aspects for dam and levee projects.
• Oversees engineering geology activities including rock mechanics, data interpretation and uncertainty in support of risk assessments.
• Serves on multidisciplinary teams to evaluate performance of USACE infrastructure and to review technical reports.
