Job summary

C.T. Male Associates in the Capital Region is seeking a Geologist I to join our team in Latham, NY. Get hands-on experience on diverse, impactful projects while growing your technical skills and progressing toward professional licensure.

This full-time, non-exempt position features field work, environmental sampling, reporting, collaboration with project managers, and opportunities for ownership, mentorship, and career growth within our employee-owned firm.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Geology, Hydrogeology, Geosciences, or related discipline.

Responsibilities

• Perform field work: aquifer evaluation and testing, drilling and monitoring well installation observation, soil and/or rock logging, sampling environmental media (e.g., soil, groundwater, air), Phase II Environmental Site Assessments, and observation of environmental remedial investigations/actions.
• Work both independently and in teams to complete field tasks.
• Coordinate drilling, environmental sampling, laboratory, and various field services.
• Prepare daily field reports and interpret findings.
• Communicate with project managers, subcontractors, regulatory agents, and clients.
• Support technical reporting, compliance plans, and permit applications.

Male Associates, an employee-owned, multi-discipline engineering, surveying, and architectural firm based in the Capital Region, is seeking a motivated Geologist I to join our team in Latham, NY. Get hands-on experience working on diverse, impactful projects while growing your technical skills and progressing toward professional licensure.

What You’ll Do:

• Perform field work: aquifer evaluation and testing, drilling and monitoring well installation observation, soil and/or rock logging, sampling environmental media (e.g., soil, groundwater, air), Phase II Environmental Site Assessments, and observation of various phases and practices of environmental remedial investigations/actions.
• Work both independently and in teams to complete field tasks.

Job Requirements

What You’ll Bring to the Team:

• Bachelor’s degree in Geology, Hydrogeology, Geosciences, or related discipline.
• One to three (1-3) years of relevant environmental experience, including environmental field work.
• Proactive mindset and solid technical skills.
• Experience with sampling equipment and environmental monitoring tools.
• Strong experience in Microsoft Office programs.
• Intern Geologist Certificate (Passed the ASBOG Fundamentals of Geology (FG) examination).
• Experience with Surfer®, Win‑Situ software, AQTESOLV software and/or other groundwater plotting or modeling packages, ArcGIS, Field Maps, and data management software (e.g., EarthSoft and EQuIS).
