Job summary

SRK Consulting is seeking a Geologist / Geological Engineer to join our Denver, CO team in a hybrid role. You will support mining projects with field investigations, mapping, drill core logging, and data interpretation.

The ideal candidate holds a bachelor’s in geology or a related geoscience, with strong field geology and communication skills, and a willingness to travel for site work. SRK offers a collaborative environment and diverse project exposure.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in geology, geological engineering, geophysics, or related geoscience.
• Field geology, structural geology, mineralogy, and rock identification fundamentals.
• Experience with geological mapping, drill core logging, or rock mass characterization.
• Ability to interpret field observations into geological models.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent technical writing and interpersonal communication.
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally for fieldwork.
• Authorization to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Support geological and geotechnical investigations for mining projects.

Geologist / Geological Engineer - Denver, CO/ Hybrid,

SRK Consulting is an independent, international consulting practice, providing globally integrated consulting services to the international mining and metals sector.

Description Of Responsibilities

• Support geological and geotechnical investigations for mining projects.
• Perform geological mapping, core logging, rock mass characterization, and structural interpretation.
• Evaluate lithology, alteration, discontinuities, faults, bedding, and other geological features relevant to mine design and operations.
• Analyze and interpret geological, geotechnical, geophysical, and spatial datasets.
• Support field investigations, drilling programs, site inspections, and data collection.
• Prepare geological maps, technical figures, analyses, and reports.
• Collaborate with geologists, mining engineers, geotechnical engineers, and other technical specialists.
• Participate in domestic and international site visits and field programs as required.

Essential Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in geology, geological engineering, geophysics, or a related geoscience discipline.
• Strong foundation in field geology, structural geology, mineralogy, and rock identification.
• Experience with geological mapping, drill core logging, or rock mass characterization.
• Ability to develop sound geological interpretations from field observations and technical data.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong technical writing and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary consulting environment.
• Capability and fitness for intermittent domestic and international travel and fieldwork.i>
• Candidates must possess valid authorization to work in the United States.

Your Preferred Skills And Qualifications

• Master’s degree in geology, geological engineering, or a related discipline.
• Mining, mineral exploration, engineering geology, or geotechnical experience.
• Experience with GIS, geological modeling, remote sensing, or geophysical interpretation.
• Familiarity with Python or other tools for analysis of geological and spatial data.
• Experience in professional consulting services preferred.

Compensation

$100,000-$110,000 USD per annum plus bonus eligibility.
