Hanson Professional Services Inc. is seeking a Geologist or Geological Engineer to join our Railway Market Unit in St. Louis, MO. You will conduct desktop assessments, field data collection, and supervise drilling and lab operations to support geotechnical projects.

Responsibilities include planning geotechnical explorations, modeling and design, and preparing formal reports. 0–2 years experience with a bachelor's degree is expected; travel and overtime may be required.

Qualifications

• Must have a bachelor's degree in geology or geological engineering.
• 0-2 years of experience; GRIT/FE preferred or ability to obtain within 6 months.
• Ability to write clearly and concisely; computer skills required.
• Willingness to travel out of town and work overtime; safety sensitive position.

Responsibilities

• Lead geotechnical explorations: planning, field reconnaissance, subs contractor coordination, data collection.
• Lead field safety and quality control.
• Develop geo-material design parameters, conduct modeling/analysis and design, perform calculations.
• Prepare geotechnical reports, specifications, details, and construction plans.
• Assign duties and mentor entry-level staff; provide quality control by reviewing concepts and reports.
• Other duties as assigned.
