The Virginia Community Colleges are seeking an Adjunct Faculty member for Geography for Summer and Fall 2026. Successful candidates will teach courses at the Culpeper location, ensuring students receive quality education. A Master's degree with graduate hours in Geography is mandatory.

Germanna Community College is a public, open access institution of higher education in the Virginia Community College System. Adjunct faculty members are responsible for effectively planning and teaching courses in a classroom environment to students with a variety of academic backgrounds and experiences. The position involves daytime, in-person teaching assignments at our Culpeper location in the field of Geography.
This position will work with the Future Educators Academy (FEA), a Virginia Collegiate Partnership Lab School that meets VDOE requirements for Virginia Teacher Licensure. Ideal candidates would hold an active K‑12 Virginia Teaching License. If applicants do not hold an active license, Germanna Community College may provide the opportunity to pursue the additional VDOE requirements.
The position is located in Virginia. Applicants must reside within a reasonable commuting distance or be willing to relocate to ensure consistent, reliable attendance.
Duties and Tasks:As a part of the primary responsibility to provide quality instruction, the College expects each faculty member to meet assigned classes regularly; submit required records and reports routinely; teach the prescribed courses of study with the established texts; and adhere to the statement on professional ethics in accordance with College policies, procedures, and regulations.
Special Assignments:May be required to perform other duties as assigned. May be required to assist the agency or state government generally in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor.
Qualifications (KSA's):You may be expected to travel to all campus locations.
The selected candidate’s offer is contingent upon the successful completion of an extensive criminal background investigation, which may include fingerprint checks, local agency checks, employment verification, verification of education, credit checks (relevant to employment), and other checks requested by the VCCS such as I‑9 and E‑Verify requirements.
