Job summary

American Modern, a Munich Re subsidiary, offers a 2027 GIS internship combining geospatial data creation, script development, and portfolio support. You’ll work on ArcGIS Pro, Python, SQL, and QGIS, collaborating with mentors and senior leaders in a hybrid setting in Amelia, Ohio.

We value GIS students ready to contribute to real projects, with strong communication and problem-solving skills, and an eagerness to learn. Eligible U.S. work authorization is required.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree with a GIS focus.
• Rising junior or senior status during internship.
• Available to work full-time for the summer (40 h/wk).
• Hybrid work environment with 40–50% in Amelia, OH office.
• Strong communication, organization and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel/Word/PowerPoint/Outlook).

Your Opportunity

What You'll Do:

• Create manufactured home park data using ArcGIS Pro and Python.

Qualifications:

• Currently pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree at an accredited college or university with a focus in GIS

• Rising Junior or Senior at the time of the internship

• Available to work full-time (40 hours per week) for the duration of the summer internship program

• Able to work in a hybrid environment, including approximately 40-50% of the time in our Amelia, Ohio office

• Reliable transportation to commute to the office as required

• Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills

• Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook)

• Eagerness to learn, take initiative, and contribute to meaningful projects
