Job summary

Serco is seeking a Sensor Operator at the Diego Garcia international location to support GEODSS operations for the U.S. Space Force mission. You will operate and maintain three 1-meter telescopes, respond to tasking, and ensure proper documentation of operations and security procedures.

The role requires an active DoD Secret clearance, US citizenship with a valid passport, and the ability to obtain CAC. A minimum of 1 year of relevant experience and 24/7 shift capacity are essential to success.

Qualifications

• Active DoD clearance required or current.
• US citizenship with valid passport required.
• Ability to obtain Common Access Card (CAC).
• Minimum 1 year of relevant work experience.
• Ability to work shift work in 24/7 environment.
• Ability to travel to Diego Garcia; background check required.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain three one-meter GEODSS telescopes and associated sensors.
• Respond to government tasking to obtain metric observations daily.
• Maintain operation logs, security events, equipment status, and shift changes.
• Complete initialization and monthly recurring training; maintain certifications.
• Perform sensor settings and calibrations; support calibration per GEODSS TOs.
• Assist technicians and coordinate resources for site operations.
