Meharry Medical College seeks a Research Scientist to support genomics and precision health initiatives within the Office for Research and Innovation. The role conducts genomic data analyses, interprets variants, and translates findings into research projects and translational outcomes.

You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, develop reproducible workflows, contribute to grants and publications, and help train researchers in genomics and related areas.

Qualifications

• PhD or equivalent doctoral degree in a relevant field.
• Minimum of three years of relevant research experience.
• Experience conducting human genomic research and interpreting human genetic variation.
• Experience with public genomic resources (e.g., ClinVar, gnomAD) is preferred.

Responsabilités

• Query and analyze public and controlled-access resources (e.g., All of Us, UK Biobank, gnomAD, ClinVar).
• Respond to research questions by conducting targeted analyses and providing evidence-based findings.
• Analyze population-specific genomic variation and genotype-phenotype relationships.
• Develop reproducible analytical workflows integrating genomic and clinical data.
• Support development of educational, training, and workforce initiatives in genomics.
• Lead or contribute to manuscripts, abstracts, and other scholarly outputs.
• Collaborate with investigators to translate findings into grant applications and translational outcomes.
