Job summary

Plasmidsaurus is seeking a lab automation software engineer to join our automation team in San Francisco. You will write production-quality Python to integrate hardware with our LIMS and data pipelines.

You'll orchestrate robots, build tools bridging R&D and lab automation, and collaborate with scientists to design high-throughput workflows. Applicants have 3+ years Python, Flask/Django, lab experience, and an interest in biotechnology.

Qualifications

• BS, MS or PhD in CS, Robotics, Biology, or relevant work experience.
• 3+ years programming in Python.
• 3+ years using Flask/Django web frameworks.
• 1+ yrs lab experience with molecular biology protocols.
• 1+ yrs automating lab procedures with liquid handling systems.

Responsibilities

• Orchestrate and instrument growing fleet of lab robotics.
• Create agentic tools bridging R&D and lab automation.
• Write production-quality Python code to integrate hardware with LIMS and data pipelines.
• Collaborate with scientists to develop high-throughput workflows.
• Build world-class lab automation at a leading biotech company.
