Shodair Children’s Hospital seeks a dedicated Genetic Nurse Practitioner (0.8 FTE) to join our Genetics Team across Montana. You will provide genetic consultations, education to patients and families, and work with a physician to support individuals with genetic disorders and birth defects.

You will conduct genetic assessments, prepare reports, and participate in statewide seminars while traveling to clinics throughout Montana, including overnight trips.

Formación

• Two years of family practice experience preferred.
• Previous genetics experience highly preferred.
• Master’s degree in Nursing or Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP).
• Current Montana licensure as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN).
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Responsabilidades

• Conduct genetic consultations, including medical and family histories, physical examinations, targeted laboratory testing, and genetic counseling.
• Prepare consultation reports for referring providers within 14 days of patient visits.
• Coordinate follow-up care and family studies when indicated.
• Provide outpatient clinical care through general genetics clinics, averaging two clinic days per week and approximately eight patients per day.
• Travel to clinics throughout Montana, including overnight travel.
• Contribute to genetics education through statewide seminars, professional collaboration, continuing education, and participation in regional and national genetics organizations.
• Stay current with genetics research and best practices to support quality patient care.

• Stay current with genetics research and best practices to support quality patient care.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in Nursing or Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP).
• Current Montana licensure as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN).
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Two years of family practice experience preferred.
• Previous genetics experience highly preferred.
• Ability to meet credentialing requirements and successfully complete required background and drug screenings.
