The Manager of Cancer Genetic Counseling Services will partner with departmental leadership to optimize genetic counseling operations, which includes but is not limited to adherence to regulations, quality improvement, and other issues impacting clinical practice as well as oversight of clinical schedule utilization with associated coverage needs at all service locations. Optimization of clinical operations includes accountability for access, patient satisfaction, and identification of internal programmatic development opportunities. Will be responsible for hiring, retention, and development of the genetic counselors and genetic counseling assistants within the department. Will also provide genetic counseling services and care coordination to patients in the practice with ability to apply an expert application of knowledge and skills in complex situations. Professional activities should include those that have an impact across the health system, within the local community, or on a national scale via presentations and publications. Leadership and Administrative responsibilities should account for 50% of overall effort.
