Job summary

Baylor Miraca Genetics Laboratories LLC is seeking a Genetic Counselor I to support clinical collaborations with professional clients and review laboratory orders and reports. You will help manage complex cases and provide expert guidance on genetic testing strategies.

The role emphasizes education of trainees, collaboration on policy and test development, and interaction with multidisciplinary lab teams to ensure accurate results and effective communication.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Genetic Counseling from an ACGC-accredited program (or equivalent).
• 1+ year of experience in clinical or laboratory genetics preferred.
• Board certified or board eligible in Genetic Counseling by ABMG or ABGC.

Responsibilities

• Communicate effectively with professional clients, ensuring coordination of complex cases and relaying abnormal or intricate results.
• Perform critical review of test orders and laboratory reports for accuracy and precision.
• Facilitate management of complex cases between internal teams and external clients.
• Act as a liaison between professional clients and laboratory teams.
• Educate and support professional trainees, including genetic counseling students.
• Contribute to new test development, policies, and procedures; collaborate on manuscripts and presentations.

As a Genetic CounselorI, you will play a crucial role in our clinical support team, responsible forfacilitatingcommunication betweenBaylor Genetics andprofessional clients, critical review of laboratorytest orders andreports,managing complex casesandprovidingexpert guidance in genetic testing strategies.

KEY RESPONSIBILITES

QUALIFICATIONS

Required

• Education: Master of Science or Master of Arts in Genetic Counseling from an ACGC-accredited programorequivalent.
• Experience: Experience (1+ years) in clinical or laboratory genetics preferred.
• Certification: Board certified or Board eligibleinGenetic Counseling by ABMG or ABGC.
